January Favorites and Current Eye Makeup Routine

Welcome to my (overdue) January Favorites!

As you probably all noticed, I'm really reluctant when it comes to monthly favorites and that's mostly because I usually gravitate towards the same makeup bits and I don't want to bore you to death ;)

However, this month I've decided to completely revamp my established makeup routine.

Laura Mercier Foundation Powder in N° 2

I sometimes get these lazy phases where I'm just too weary to worry about applying liquid foundation. Since I spent most of my time studying in December and January, I decided to let go of my beloved Nars Sheer Glow and start wearing powder foundation. More specifically, I opted for the Laura Mercier Powder Foundation, which is just absolutely wonderful!

With the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, I blend the powder into my skin using circular motions and I'm left with a very natural and flawless finish.
What I like most about this powder foundation is the coverage and the radiance it gives to my complexion. In fact, it evens out my skin tone just like all my lightweight liquid foundations (it's a light to medium coverage I would say) but in addition, it gives my complexion some kind of radiance boost, as if my skin was glowing from within (that sounds cheesy, I know ;) ).
It doesn't look powdery or cakey. On the contrary, to me, it looks like I'm wearing my regular liquid foundation.

I highly recommend this powder if you're looking for a quicker alternative to liquid or cream foundation but don't forget to set it with a setting spray in order to make it last throughout the whole day :)

NYX Boho Chic Cream Blusher & MAC MSF Porcelain Pink

This has become my new favorite blush combo! First I stipple Boho Chic (with my Real Techniques Stippling brush) along my cheekbones and then I use Porcelain Pink to seal everything into place.
I love the natural flush of the NYX cream blusher but because I'm afraid that at some point throughout the day the cream might just melt off my face, I prefer topping it off with Porcelain Pink, which gives it more longevity and, at the same time, works as a highlighter.

Chanel Eyeshadow Quads in Raffinement (LE) & Harmonie du Soir (LE)- Urban Decay Sin Eyeshadow - MAC Blacktrack Fluidline

I've never been a fan of High End Eyeshadows until...yes until Chanel released it's Holiday Palette 2012 called Harmonie du Soir. The color combination, the pigmentation, the texture, the pay-off...I just loved everything about this palette and that's exactly what made me buy the newly released Spring Quad called Raffinement.

I've been using those two palettes constantly in combination with my holy grail Sin eyeshadow and MAC's blacktrack fluidline to create a slightly sultry everyday look.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

I never thought I would actually jump on this bandwagon but I eventually did and I don't regret it :)
The tiny wand grabs and defines every lash without clumping and the mascara stays put throughout the day. Because of its long wearing formula, you can say goodbye to panda eyes! In addition, since it's not waterproof, it comes off easily with a bi-phase makeup remover.
All in all, I will definitely repurchase this little baby!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel In Granite

When I want my brows to look natural, I'll just use the gel on its own but if I'm going for a more "dramatic" look, I'll first apply the gel and further define my brows with my Fling Eyebrow Pencil by MAC.
Not only does the gel tint your brow hairs but it also tames them and you can be sure that they will stay put for the rest of the day.

MAC Lipstick in Plumful

For the last 3 months, I had been using the same product over and over...You can probably guess that I'm talking about my trusty Clinique Chubby Stick in Voluptuous Violet which I absolutely adore.
But then I came to the conclusion that it was about time for a change, so I shopped my stash and rediscovered my love for MAC's Plumful lipstick, which has quickly become my go-to lip product in January. Not only do I love the berry-fuchsia-plum color of the lipstick but I also adore the Lustre formula which provides a sheerer and more nourishing finish on the lips.
Love Love Love <3

    1. Go for it :) They are amazing! I prefer the powder foundation to the mineral powder because I feel like it's more long lasting but I guess it varies from one person to the other xx

  6. The Chanel quads are stunning! I swatched a few Chanel powder eye shadows a few years back but wasn't too impressed with the formula, I'll have to give them another try.
