I really need to get my lipstick obsession under control...When I saw the new YSL spring collection and the new Volupté Shines pop up on the Feelunique website, I couldn't resist ordering a few items.
The new Spring collection didn't really impress me, except for one lipstick that I just couldn't get out of my system, namely the YSL Volupté Sheer Candy in N°12 Framboise Craquante.
Most of you are probably thinking that it's not a very spectacular and/or unique color, and I completely agree but there was something that really made me want to buy this lipstick (most probably the gorgeous packaging). Basically, it's just an ordinary tinted lip balm with a hefty price tag. It looks beautiful on the lips but since there are at least 100 cheaper dupes out there, I certainly wouldn't repurchase it.
Regarding the new YSL Volupté Shine lipsticks, I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical when Tiffany from willworkformakeup.blogspot.com introduced me to this new range. In fact, I was never a big fan of the original Rouge Volupté formula, which was (and still is) way too slippery and creamy for my taste. But since she reassured me that this lipstick formula was completely different, I decided to give them a go and I don't regret it :)
They are still very pigmented but they're not as cakey and slippery as the original Rouge Voluptés. On the contrary, they are smooth, nourishing, glossy and leave a beautiful stain on the lips. Would I repurchase them? Most definitely :)

Oh I really like the YSL Volupté Sheer Candy in N°12 - it's a soft pink color, which I really like to wear during the spring and summer time:)
ReplyDeleteBye,
NIKA
It's very nice indeed but a little too pricey for what it is ;) xx
DeleteThe packaging it to die for it actually makes me want to spend money I don't have! One day :(

I know...the packaging is truly the best part <3
DeleteI love both of the Rouge Volupte Shines you picked up! Happy to hear you're loving them too. I just got Nude in Private the other day and I'm obsessed with it. It's like a "my lips but better" shade :)
ReplyDeleteUhhh that sounds interesting but no...I just bought a few new mac lipsticks...I can't justify buying more lip products right now! Maybe in a few months haha ;)
DeleteOoo, can't wait to see which ones you got :)
DeleteOMG The colours are so pretty *O*
ReplyDeleteBtw, I would love to know what's your opinion on YSL Volupté Sheer Candy in N°12 Framboise Craquante , I've seen so many review's saying that they are bad, some that even dries peoples lips...
Lovely post as always!

The sheer candy lipsticks are good but way too pricey in my opinion! Basically, it's nothing more than a tinted lip balm. I've experienced some dryness but it's not that prominent! If your want to treat yourself, then go for it, but honestly, they're not worth the price ;) xxx
Deleteoh I get that.
DeleteI think that what I like the most is the packaging. <3 It's so pretty and chic.
I totally get your point.

They look incredible, so different from the original formula. I was going to treat myself to one of the Sheer Candy shades after my spending ban but think I might go for a Rouge Volupté Shine instead.

I know, it's impressive :) I would definitely recommend you check those out first and if you're not convinced, then go for a sheer candy :) xxx
